Nick Tucker knows that the next 72 hours will decide the fate of Clevedon Town.

Tomorrow the Premier Division strugglers take on Stourbridge at the Hand Stadium and then on Easter Monday travel to Lodge Road to face relegation rivals Yate Town.

Six points from those two games would take Clevedon towards safety, especially with two of their final three games being at home.

"We have five games left and I think we need four wins to get out of the bottom four," said Tucker.

"If we can finish fifth from bottom we will stay up. Anything less than four wins and then we would have to settle for fourth from bottom and hope that not all four clubs are relegated."

The midweek defeat at Oxford was another setback after last weekend's win at Gloucester City, but Tucker said he can't ask any more of his players.

He said: "Two months ago, after I took over, everyone said we were finished as we were bottom of the league, but the players have come a long way since then and given themselves a chance of staying up. They deserve enormous credit."

Clevedon's task has been made harder with the loss of Josh Brigham, who starts a three-game ban after picking up 15 bookings. Brigham was sent off at Oxford for two yellows, so can expect further punishment, which may ensure he does not play again until next season.

Chris Collins' season may also be over after suffering a knee injury at Gloucester City, while both Danny Wring and Sam Jones are doubtful.

On the plus side, Danny Greaves is available again and Bern Evans may also return after missing the Oxford match.

Striker Mitchell Page will return to sharpen Mangotsfield United's attack for the visit of play-off hopefuls Cambridge City.

"It will be interesting to see Mitchell alongside Daine O'Connor, who has been in great form for us, considering he hasn't played for over a year," said boss Phil Bater, who has now been confirmed as the club's manager after serving as caretaker since Paul Milsom left.

On-loan Bristol Rovers midfielder Ben Swallow will continue in the side after scoring his first goal in Monday's encouraging 2-1 win against Swindon Supermarine.

Yate Town's hopes of beating the drop may well have disappeared on Tuesday when they let slip a 1-0 lead against fellow-strugglers Hitchin to concede three goals in the final 15 minutes.

"Everyone is feeling downbeat and I am particularly frustrated by it all," said manager Dave Mogg, who must lift his team for the visit to Gloucester City. "It will be a big ask for us now."

Paulton Rovers have a chance to redeem themselves at home to second-placed Windsor & Eton tomorrow after their play-off hopes evaporated after Monday's 4-2 defeat against Burnham, their seventh defeat at home.
