Vital that we all take part in police vote
COMPARED to the election for Bristol's Mayor the vote for a police commissioner appears something of a sideshow. But whilst it might no be receiving the same degree of attention it is extremely important.

They come from a variety of backgrounds mostly outside of policing and the police authority.
But whoever is elected will play a pivotal role in taking Avon and Somerset police forward.
And our part in helping to make that choice of commissioner is vital.
This is the first time we have been given the chance to vote for a police commissioner and it is an opportunity of which we all need to take advantage.
The more of us who turn out on November 15 for both the Mayor and the Police Commissioner the greater the credibility the winners will enjoy.
That will allow them both to start their new roles with confidence.
