Visit informal and romantic gardens
There will be two Bristol gardens open this week as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
Tranby House in Norton Lane, Whitchurch, will be open on Thursday, from noon to 4pm. Admission costs £3 and children get in for free.
It is a well-established informal garden, designed and planted to encourage wildlife. There is a wide variety of trees and flowers, ponds and a wild flower meadow.
The garden at 22, Ambra Vale in Clifton Wood will be open in the evenings of Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, from 6-9pm.
Admission is £3.50, and children get in for free. It is a part-walled small-town garden, with a romantic feel and informal planting.
