ELEPHANT is selling two contemporary-styled flats in this impressive Victorian villa, where the big windows, large rooms, high ceilings and smart finish make for attractive homes.

Moreover, both the vendors mention the lure of living in such a vibrant area – and having fresh bread and cakes from the shop across the road.

The more expensive of the two properties is the first- floor apartment, but both are similarly laid out, with large, open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas, each with wood-effect laminate floors, then the bedrooms and bathroom on the other side of the building.

White kitchen units and wood-effect worktops in the first-floor flat are complemented by brightly coloured white and orange tiled splashbacks, while the walls throughout are white, save for the odd feature wall in deep red or purple. The bathroom has a white suite, with shower.

The vendor says: "I was sold on this flat as soon as I saw it and will be very sad to leave.

"A lot of flats I looked at only had one double room and one single, but this has two proper double rooms, which both fit king-sized beds.

"In my years here I've shared both with a flat-mate and with a partner, and found that it is well suited to either option.

"You are right in the heart of the action here, and it's just a short walk into the city centre or to Whiteladies Road and Clifton.

"I particularly love the fact that I can spy on the queue at the bread store opposite from my bedroom window so that I can time my run for fresh bread on a Saturday morning."

Meanwhile, the hall floor apartment, which is available with no chain, is finished throughout in neutral colours and has pale wood-effect kitchen cupboards, black worktops and colourful tiles in blues and white.

Finally, both properties share the use of the communal garden and bike store.
