Veteran fundraiser needs help to shake collection tins for Afghan Heroes
VETERAN fundraiser Tony Hall is appealing for volunteers from Weston-super-Mare to help rattle collecting tins on behalf of the Afghan Heroes charity.
Tony, who coordinates fundraising efforts on behalf of the charity, is looking for helpers to collect donations ahead of the Bristol-Weston sponsored walk he is organising on February 9.
Tony will be leading a team of walkers from the statue of Neptune at Bristol city centre to cover the 22 miles to the Grand Pier.
He has already raised hundreds of pounds for the charity set up in 2009 by a group of mothers who had all lost sons in Afghanistan and who felt a specialist charity was needed to support families and service personnel.

Tony said: "The charity has just opened its first post services facility in Ashcott near Glastonbury and the money we raise will help former armed forces personnel rebuild their lives."
To date Shepton Mallet-based Afghan Heroes has sent 24,500 boxes of home comforts for troops on the front line, supplied Multi Media equipment in to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Camp Bastion as well as establishing the first holiday home where returning troops and the families of the fallen can spend quality time with their family.
It continues to provide support for families of the fallen our returning troops and our wounded
