The unnamed piglet, thought to be about three-months-old, was seen shivering and hungry by a woman living near the seaside resort.
He is not tagged, animal welfare staff had no way of tracing him but it is believed the piglet had been dumped unwanted.

When he was rescued, the piglet was using used a tipped-up plastic bucket as a shelter and had somehow acquired a pair of jeans which he snuggled into as makeshift bedding.
Samuel, who has one eye following a difficulties caused by a large cataract, is looking forward to introducing his piglet pal to visitors to the centre.
Visitor centre manager, Sharon Crewe, said: “This gorgeous little piglet is now in safe hands, but the one thing he’s missing is a name.
“So we’re asking people to make suggestions.
“He’ll make an excellent addition to the animals always here to meet HorseWorld visitors and we’re planning for him to be here during February half-term."
