In this video, the Post’s political editor Ian Onions explains how the new mayor can champion future prosperity in the city.
Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, November 15 to choose the city’s first elected mayor.
The result will be announced the following day.

How to pull in a few million of start up costs is one challenge I face. Once the money is there it will be all systems go and before you know it there will be items in the shops proudly boasting the words 'Made in Great bristol'. Irrespective of whether I win the Mayor race or not I want to see this plan reach fruition and urge local industry to get in touch, work with me and be part of something big.”
