Events further up the pyramid structure have saved Uphill Castle from relegation out of the Globe Sports West of England Premier League.

The Weston village side finished bottom of the Somerset division, only three points away from ninth placed Butleigh and just six from seventh-placed Westlands Sports, after tieing a dramatic last match of the season, at home to Frome.

But Uphill, in their first year back in the WEPL's fourth tier, have been reprieved because of the geographical rebalancing that has taken place in the cross-county competition following the relegation of three teams from the Glos & Wilts division in tier three.

Woodmancote, in the Gloucester Division, have also been saved from the drop, as have Knowle who finished second bottom in the Bristol & Somerset division, but three sides have instead been demoted from the Wiltshire Division.

Nailsea's relegation from the Bristol & North Somerset division, and the elevation of ambitious Chew Magna from the Bristol & District League, has been confirmed.

The second XI WEPL structure for next season will be announced soon.

The WEPL's annual dinner will be held at the BAW Club on October 12. The guest speaker is former New Zealand captain Jeremy Coney.
