Parsons announce their 300th anniversary competition winner

I’m sure that the 100 or so readers who entered the Parson’s Jewellers Valentine’s Day competition are waiting with bated breath to hear if they are the lucky winner of the £300 that owner Paul Davis is giving away in celebration of his company’s 300th birthday.

Well the winner, and there could only be one I’m afraid, was 49 year old Mrs Stella Drower of Cleeve, near Yatton in North Somerset, seen here receiving her prize from Paul at his shop in The Mall, Broadmead.

The winning 22ct gold wedding ring, dated 1860, was stamped “Parsons” and made for the jewellers in Birmingham.

Originally made for Mrs Drower’s great, great grandmother the ring had, along with two congratulations postcards, been passed down through the generations.

“It was fantastic, a huge response” Paul told Bristol Times.

“Many people still had the original receipts, boxes, even paper bags from the original purchase.

“And many of the letters told such moving stories.

“I am having some special pens made to celebrate our 300 years which I would like to give to everyone who entered the competition.

“But as many of the entries came in by email with no address I’m asking those people to come into the shop in The Mall, Broadmead, themselves.”

If that’s not possible then please give Paul Davis a ring on 0117 927 384
