Yeovil trial star Ricky Wiggins, who is unbeaten in the South West Centre Championship after eight of the 12 rounds, inflicted and eight-mark defeat on 14-times Wessex Centre champion Colin Crease in the Mendip Vale club's annual Traders Trophy event at Wraxall, near Nailsea.

Staged over two laps of 24 sections on the Belmont Estate, Wiggins lost only two marks, one on the 12th, where a climb over rock steps proved difficult for all 93 starters, and the other in the 13th on a descent over rocks. Crease also lost marks in the 12th and 13th, as well as in the 18th.

Competing on a less difficult clubman route, 62-year-old Headley Ashford retained a clean sheet.
