The first two-day tournament at the Bristol Softball Association's new home took place on Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24.

The DD Cup Tournament, designed to test the facilities, worked as a dry run for more major events later in the year and was blessed with sunny weather.

Teams travelled from Leicester, Nottingham, Cardiff and Oxford to take part.

The Leicester royals, Nottingham Red backs, Cardiff Pirates, Oxford Odd Socks, Zambesi warriors, and Bristol teams Spartans, Go balls deep and Scorgasms contested a closely fought battle to win the new DD Cup.

In the Main Final The Zambesi Warriors strength and experience won out in the end, against a Bristol Spartans team containing six players playing in their first tournament.

The Plate Final was won by Cardiff Pirates and the most Sociable Team was awarded to Go Balls deep from Bristol.
