Hereford United chief Graham Turner will be expecting his players to capitalise on their midweek victory over Carlisle United when they take on Huddersfield Town in a crucial League One encounter at Edgar Street this afternoon.

Turner believes The Bulls still have a fighting chance of avoiding relegation back into League Two if they take up the challenge.

"The win over Carlisle has given us a fighting chance of survival but there has got to be an almighty belief that we can get out of trouble" said Turner. "We have brought in senior players back in the side for the last three or four matches, sometimes that experience is an important thing especially when we find ourselves where we are.

"We had to work hard for our win at Brunton Park and had a little bit of luck which has been lacking in recent matches.

"Now we have to believe we have to get out of trouble as nobody else will do it for us.

"We might need a slice of luck here and there but it's all down to good results and we will be in there scrapping".

Skipper Karl Broadhurst, Ben Smith and Chris Taylor were the experienced players drafted back into action on Tuesday at Brunton Park. Smith scored Hereford's goal after 32-year-old Steve Guinan had opened the scoring for the Bulls.

All four are expected to retain their places against Lee Clark's Huddersfield who beat Hereford 2-0 earlier in the campaign.

Hereford, however, will be without winger Matt Done who played an important role in the first half against the Cumbrians.

Done limped off at half time with a twisted knee and is expected to miss the next two or three games.

New arrival Marc Pugh is expected to replace Done having joined Hereford from Shrewsbury Town for the rest of the season.

Bristol City midfielder Jennison Myrie-Wiliams could also be in contention having returned to Edgar Street for a second loan spell with the club.

But the Bulls will have to check on the fitness of striker Febian Brandy before deciding on their starting line-up.

Brandy also picked up a knock at Carlisle and was replaced by Bristol Rovers' loanee Andy Williams.

Williams had missed Hereford's last five games due to an ankle problem but made his return for 28 minutes when he Bulls came under heavy pressure from the Cumbrians. Huddersfield will also have a new face in their squad for today's clash having signed Liverpool defender Martin Kelly until the end of the season.

Kelly aged 18, has made one appearance as a substitute for Liverpool in a Champions' League game against PSV Eindhoven .

But The Terriers will be without Jon Worthington (suspended) while Andy Holdsworth and Nathan Clarke are struggling to shake off injuries.

Hereford (from): Gulacsi, Rose, Taylor, Broadhurst, Beckwith, Pugh, Smith, Johnson, Diagouraga, Brandy, Guinan, Williams, Gwynne, Myrie-Williams, Hewson, O'Leary, Jackson, Dennehy, Viega.
