OFFICIALS of St Anne's Town were left regretting the decision to switch their GFA Intermediate Cup second-round tie against Evergreen to the Downs when the Nethan was waterlogged after slumping to a 4-1 defeat.

The Saints opened brightly with an early goal from Ollie Norman, before Evergreen hit back with a hat-trick from their new Turkish striker Bektaf Ketenci and a goal from Jason Paine.

"We deserved to win after the early setback," said Evergreen's secretary Richard Puchowski.

Strikes by Warren Edgell (2), Makindi Kondwani and Dion Williams gave Lebeq Reserves a 4-3 home victory against Hare-on-the-Hill, while Bristol Barcelona Reserves failed to reply to goals from Paul Evans and Lee Farmer at Patchway North End.

Clifton St Vincents Reserves were held to a 1-1 draw by Andy Forshaw's equaliser for Greyfriars Reserves, who won 6-5 in the spot-kick shootout which followed.

Also through to the third round on December 1 are Frampton Athletic Reserves, 4-3 winners on penalties after Paul Ashpole, Andy Cleverly and Liam Dorner had scored in a 3-3 draw away to St Andrews on the Downs. Real Thornbury received a bye.

The remaining eight ties were postponed because of waterlogged pitches and will be played on Saturday, weather permitting.
