Travel writer to give talk in Bristol
Travel writer William Dalrymple is coming to Keynsham next month to talk about his visits to Christian communities in the Middle East.
He will be sharing the story of his journey through Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt, which resulted in his award winning 1997 book, From the Holy Mountain.
The talk is at The Carter Room, Fry's Club and Conference Centre, Keynsham on July 3 at 8pm.
The event is a result of a partnership between Keynsham Music Festival and More to Life.
Mr Dalrymple was booked to talk last year but had to cancel at the last minute when he won the Indian equivalent of the Booker prize.
As an apology to Keynsham he reduced his fee this year which made it possible for the organisers to offer all profits to Wherever The Need, a local charity working in small communities in India, Kenya Sierra Leone. Tickets, priced £6 - £8, are available from Keynsham Town Council on 986 8683.
