Transport in south Bristol . . . where's the station?
Jon Rogers, the Liberal Democrat in charge of transport at Bristol City Council, is correct that investment is needed for the south of the city. The north side of Bristol is full to capacity.
A new link road has been proposed to go under the main line railway near Yanley at a cost of £5 million.

If they are going to carry out such a complex engineering project then they might as well put in a new railway station at the same time.
In previous correspondence with Jonathon Chestney and Land Trusts it was explained that because the railway at this location was on a railway embankment it would be a difficult engineering project.
I have seen a road built under the Bristol-to-London mainline at Thingley in Wiltshire.
And closer to home, Nailsea and Backwell railway station is built on a railway embankment, so there should not be any excuses.
The main line railway runs through the proposed new housing development at Ashton Vale. Can Jonathon Chestney explain why a new railway station is not planned?

“David, yes I quite agree. Why is it projects that engineers had no problem with in the 1800s (such as stations on embankments) are suddenly 'difficult' in the early part of the 21st century?”
