Another Twitter user, Jessica Hambly, identified the tractor Mr Lineker was driving across the bridge as a Massey Ferguson, and others also tweeted their amusement at seeing the star on the local landmark.
Mr Lineker has fronted the Walkers ads since 1995.
The new Walkers "home grown" TV advert is due to air nationwide on Friday, March 8.

“@ Villageboy
Didn't you know reading Twitter is the only way the Post finds out what is going on in Bristol?
One day, they might even publish some real news!”
