THIS scene at Chipping Sodbury was typical of that facing many clubs across the Bristol area as the rain continued to fall.

Andy Shield, the chairman of the Globe Sports West of England Premier League club, said: "I think one of the most depressing aspects to the wet weather is the fact that on Friday we were all resigned to the fact that there would be no cricket at all over the weekend.
