Toolstation League round-up
Striker Max Huxley has turned down offers from a number of clubs and opted to stay with Toolsation League Division I outfit Oldland Abbotonians.
"Matt's decision was a big boost for the club," said recently appointed manager Spencer Thomas. "And I hope to complete the signing of four or five new players in the next week or so."
Oldland, who won the Les Phillips Cup last season, got their new campaign off to a good start by winning the Longwell Green Sports sixes, beating Keynsham Town in the final.
Toolstation League Division I Cadbury Heath, who kicked off their season with a 3-0 victory over Tytherington Rocks thanks to goals from Nick Dyer, Dave Scutt and new signing Chris Aspley, are away to Somerset County League side Nailsea United tomorrow and travel to face Southern League newcomers Frome Town next Tuesday.
● AEK Boco meet Made For Ever in the opening game of the Hanham Charity Shield, which is being played on two pitches at Vicarage Road on Saturday, starting at noon.
The second round follows on Sunday starting at 11am.
