Tom's winner for Iron Acton Reserves does his father proud
BRISTOL & AVON LEAGUE: Iron Acton Reserves manager Chris Wilmot led the celebrations after his 17-year-old son Tom netted the decider in the 3-2 victory over Imperial Reserves to give his team their first win of the season.
Sidel West and Kirk Scott were the earlier scorers for the hosts, before Matt Wood replied for the Imps with a double strike, which included a penalty.
A late goal from Kene Etele saw FC Bristol scrape home 7-6 against Long Ashton Reserves, who trailed 5-1 at the break, at Eastville Park.
Joey Dean sparked off the scoring spree with a hat-trick for FC Bristol, whose other marksmen were Alec Lamb, Francis McAleary and Oliver Crose. Paul Williams, Carl Chisholm and Leighton Baltan all struck twice in reply for the visitors.
Knowle Reds came from behind to win 3-1 at home to Greyfriars B, who took a third-minute lead through Steve Schwartz.
Jack Shepherd netted the equaliser, Darren Brett added the second with a penalty and Gerry Wiltshire completed Reds' tally to end the Friars' hopes of taking home a point.
Nathan Matthews, Chris Powle, Dan Lamborn and Jeff Leng were on target for Golden Hill Reserves, 4-2 home winners against Bradley Stoke A, who replied through Roger Smith and Adrian Chan.
