Thurston double strike sets up Longwell Green's success
Hanham Minor League Under-10s: A 3-1 first-game victory paved the way for Longwell Green's 4-3 aggregate win over Fry Club Colts in Division A.
Two Dan Thurston goals and a Jamie Nash strike settled the outcome. Defender Joe Beese was Longwell's man-of-the-match, while Josh James netted for Fry's.
The visitors levelled the aggregate score when goals from Harry Clarke and Ellis Jones gave them an early 2-0 lead in game two. But with Luke Wilshire and Jazz Clifton standing strong at the back after the break, Longwell regained the initiative and Kyle Russell slotted in their winner.
Fry's came within a whisker of snatching a draw when they hit the bar with a penalty.
Bradley Stoke were on the receiving end of a 16-1 mauling by Keynsham Town in a one-sided Division B clash.
Two long-range goals from Corey Clifton opened Keynsham's account in game one and he went on to complete his first hat-trick of the season.
Defender Josh Black scored twice following mazy runs and also made Lewis Coleman's goal with a great pass.
Lewis Whitcombe's goal was set up by man-of-the-match Owen Cocking, who later got the goal his performance deserved, while Ben Sainsbury scored with a cool finish and keeper Mason Bean converted a penalty as Town won 10-0.
Winger James Ellis put Town 1-0 up in game two and, despite a Bradley Stoke equaliser, they ran out s6-1 winners thanks to Joel Milhofer, a second-half Lochlainn Collins hat-trick and Ellis again. Defender Robbie Dury was named man of the match.

“The little girl at the back for Longwell Green was the best just outstanding.”
