Thornbury Town dented any outside chance Henbury had of winning the title with a 4-2 home victory.

Henbury took the lead in the 15th minute when Thornbury's defence got themselves into a mess, allowing George Watts to knock the ball home.

Town drew level on the half hour mark with a free-kick from Steve Alexander, but 10 minutes later Henbury were back in front as Craig Hobbs hit a cracking shot from the edge of the box.

Five minutes into the second half it was 2-2 as Chris Parry's cross was shinned into the net by James Derosa. Chris Parry netted from the penalty spot after a Henbury defender handled and substitute Steve Rice lobbed in a superb fourth.

A victory in the week against Axa and a slender 1-0 victory at Patchway Town have given Slimbridge a four-point lead at the top of the table over Kings Stanley. Both clubs have played the same number of games.

Their goal at Patchway came in the 16th minute when Jamie Martin forced the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.

Patchway thought they had equalised on the hour mark but the goal was disallowed for a push on the keeper.

Kings Stanley kept up the pressure with a 3-1 win at home to B&W Avonside. The opening goal came in the 42nd minute, when Martin McDermott headed home a Paul Day cross. Five minutes into the second half B&W drew level when Kris Rueben hammered a volley in from 15 yards.

Stanley regained the lead from an Aiden Mercer free-kick before substitute Nick Rieger latched on to a dreadful backpass to fire Stanley into a 3-1 lead.

Ellwood lost ground when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Taverners. The home side opened the scoring with a free-kick from Russell Chamberlain which crept in at the far post. The visitors hit back in the 68th minute with a superb free-kick from striker Daryl Addis.

DRG Stapleton's rollercoaster season continues after a 3-1 defeat at home to Bishop's Cleeve Reserves.

Two defensive errors in the first 45 minutes saw the home side trailing 2-0 at the break. James Pickup gave Cleeve the lead after 19 minutes Jamie Hammond headed in a second.

Clinton Wilson gave the home side some hope in the 80th minute when he was put clear to lob the ball over the advancing keeper, but Hammond ended any hopes of a comeback with a third goal.

Axa gained a 1-0 victory over Highridge United with a Nigel Ramana goal in the 55th minute, headed in from an Andy Watts free-kick.

Strugglers Hanham Athletic and Chipping Sodbury met and it was Hanham who grabbed all three points with a goal in the 85th minute from Mark Pocock.

Berkeley Town came back from behind to grab a 3-2 victory over Yate Town Reserves. The home side opened the scoring with a strike from Peter Lavis before the visitors struck in the 19th and 22nd minutes.

Mike Bryant scored twice, both headers, to win the match for the home side in the second half.
