Thornbury Falcons' hot-shots power to title win
Hanham Minor League: Thornbury Falcons Under-11s secured the Division D title in emphatic style with a 14-0 victory over Almondsbury.
Man-of-the-match Johnny Skinner fired in his first of his two goals after four minutes to open the floodgates. Harry Shipp and Arthur Severinsen both hit hat-tricks, while Jack Hemming, Kieron Bancroft, Asher Budd, Elliott Bradburn, Dan Worsley and Joe Randall were also on target to cap a great end to the campaign.
AEK Boco tuned up for their League Cup final against Bitton next Sunday with a 16-0 demolition of Winterbourne in Division A.
Josh Kellet Butt led the way with five goals in an outstanding team display. The others came from Matty Everidge (3), Tom Norly (2), Georgina Lacey, Jack Robson, Bradley Wheadon, Jack Green, Tommy Winstone and Jack Madge.
Having beaten St Vallier 4-1 in midweek with goals from George Kellow, Fraser Venables and Callum Carter (2), Warmley Rangers were disappointed to go down 5-1 to Bitton. Zane Oldfield netted their consolation goal from a Venables cross.
After overcoming Fry Club Colts 6-1 on Friday evening, Whitchurch Sports A carried on their fine form by defeating Keynsham Town Juniors 4-0 in Division B.
Chris French opened the scoring with an easy tap-in and Robbie Dixon made it 2-0 with a cool finish.
After Josh Pitts had fired over from Callum Wright's corner, Dixon twice went close to scoring before Jack Britton made sure of the points after the interval with a shot over the keeper's head from a Wright corner.
Wright hit the fourth and Sam Ford almost struck a fifth when his header from Dixon's corner produced a fine save.
Dan Couch starred for Ashton Boys with his composure and distribution qualities as they ran out 3-1 winners over a well-organised St Nicholas side.
They took the lead in the first half through Ryan Lee Williams' long-range effort and Fraser Devlin added a second after the break.
Saints hit back with a well-taken goal to set up an exciting finale, but Solly Gardner settled Ashton's nerves by restoring their two-goal advantage with a lob over the keeper from just outside the box.
Man-of-the-match Jack Scriven struck two of Bradley Stoke Youth's goals in their 4-1 away victory over Lawrence Weston Colts team in Division B. Louis Welsman and Duval Pierre were also on target.
In Division C, Bromley Heath and Saltford Stars settled for a point apiece from a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Heath made a flying start with Jamie Dickinson scoring an impressive hat-trick in the first 10 minutes.
Stars responded with four goals in quick succession – from Cameron George, Adam Banfield, Matthew Ellis and Tristan Rogers – to edge in front. But Heath bounced back with a Kyle Morrison equaliser five minutes from time. Harry Saunders was named Heath's man of the match.
Connor Griffin scored all five goals as Broadwalk beat Whitchurch B 5-1 after Jordan Sargent had put the visitors in front.
