Brilliant, madcap local troupe Gonzo Moose cook up some more anarchic comedy theatre – this time featuring Charles Dickens as a rookie reporter, making his way through a world of pockmarked pickpockets and cobwebby convicts, teeming slums and empty marshes, dark secrets and convoluted plots.

In typical Gonzo style, the production features just three actors playing over 20 roles in 80 minutes of fast-paced fun. Expect plenty of unfeasibly quick costume changes, stupidly surreal characters and splendidly daft jokes.

What the Dickens? Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22, The Brewery, North St, Bristol, 8.15pm, £12/£9 concs (no concs Thur/Fri)/ Mon 18 all tickets £5. 0117 902 0344 / www.tobaccofactorytheatre.com.
