This is Bristol

I needed to write to you regarding something that happened to me recently.

In these times when the most important thing in the news is MPs' expenses etc, we can lose sight of the fact there are real people doing very difficult jobs for not a great deal of reward, in particular I mean the NHS staff.

I was taken ill and my wife called the 999 number. The paramedics arrived very quickly, got me into A&E just as quick and once I had been stabilised, transferred me to Ward 11.

By approximately 2pm, I had been into the operating theatre and had my problem sorted, I was very lucky.

So when people kick the NHS, I say thank you for what you done for me. Very dedicated staff and very caring.

Thanks to all, including the staff on Ward 11.
