Tensions can rise during recessions
YOUR editorial Challenge racism whenever we see it November 9 - regarding the abuse suffered by the Jamaican traffic warden Clifford Windith is an important message and most welcome.
On October 25 a large and diverse group met to celebrate and defend our multicultural society in Bristol.
This was part of a series of lectures in memory of the black teenager Stephen Lawrence that began 13 years ago and has included speakers such as Herman Ouseley, Duwayne Brooks, Tony Benn, Rheena Bhavnani, Greeta Akpeneye and Paul Stephenson as well as local anti- racists and young school students.
This recent event was backed by the city council with Tariq Modood and Lee Jasper as the main speakers. I had the honour of chairing the lecture. Lee reminded everyone how racial tension and scapegoating is likely to increase at times of recession and economic hardship.

“Mass immigration and "assimilation" forced on all white countries and ONLY white countries.
It is genocide.
Anti-racist is a codeword for anti-white.”
