A BRISTOL teenager, who has been offered a scholarship with the Royal College of Music, is performing in her final concert in the city next month.

Josephine Goddard, 18, pictured, has been singing with Bristol Choral Society since 2005. She will be singing the soprano solo O For The Wings Of A Dove in Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer at Bristol Cathedral on June 12 in her final concert with the choir.

Miss Goddard, a Bristol Grammar School student, will be taking up a scholarship in September with the Royal College of Music.

The A-level student has been competing in local music festivals for many years, and has been a "choral apprentice" with Bristol Choral Society for five years, as one of a number of young people who have been encouraged to join the choir and experience singing with professional orchestras and soloists.

The concert is entitled Hosanna!: A Journey through English Sacred Music, and includes a variety of choral music through the ages.

Tickets to the concert range from £8 to £20 and can be purchased via the Ticket Hotline 0117 9624991 or at www.bristolchoral.co.uk.
