Team news: Bristol Rovers v Port Vale
Bristol Rovers boss John Ward has suffered a blow ahead of tonight’s clash with Port Vale after losing defender Mark McChrystal to an ankle injury.
Obvious replacement, on-loan Port Vale defender Clayton McDonald, is also unavailable because of a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between Ward and Micky Adams for the 6ft 6inch centre-half not to play in this fixture.

Ward is instead expected to switch Danny Woodards from the centre of midfield to the heart of defence as one of two changes to the side that lost at Chesterfield on Saturday.
Ellis Harrison returns to the starting line-up to replace Joe Anyinsah, who was withdrawn at half-time on Saturday because of a hamstring complaint, whilst Jim Paterson starts his first game since Boxing Day.
