Team Bath 2 Chelmsford City 0: Dean Smith and Tom Piotrowski netted as Team Bath beat Chelmsford City 2-0.

Smith nipped in to break the deadlock with a header eight minutes before half time after Matt Cooper had out-jumped Chelmsford keeper Danny Gay to head the ball across the goal.

Takumi Aki could have doubled the lead after the break, but saw his shot from an acute angle come back off the foot of the post after he had dispossessed the Chelmsford keeper.

Team Bath's second had an element of luck about it – Piotrowski's shot from 25 yards cannoned off Ian Cousins and looped over the stranded keeper and into the back of the net.

That took the striker's tally to two goals in two starts.

"We were determined to stay in the game and work hard, and we knew if we did that chances and goals would come our way," said Team Bath head coach Andy Tillson.

"There was a bit of luck about the second goal, but you have to buy a raffle ticket to win a prize," he added. "It was a workmanlike performance today and a great result."
