Wycombe boss Peter Taylor has chopped and changed his Wycombe line-up over the opening games of the season in a bid to find a winning formula.

But he's not managed it yet as the Chairboys' return to League One has gone anything but smoothly.

They have lost four and drawn one so far, and head into this weekend's clash licking their wounds after a 5-2 mauling at Norwich City last weekend.

That left Taylor fuming about his side's inadequate defending.

"I don't care if you're Wycombe Wanderers or Real Madrid – if you defend like that you will get beaten," said Taylor.

"In this game when a ball comes into the box from a set-piece you have got to expect to get the first touch and then go out and get it – and that's not what happened.

"We conceded three really poor goals from set-pieces and from then on we were obviously on the back foot.

"That's something we've got to work on. Just because we kept 22 clean sheets last season doesn't mean we can just sit back."

Former Rovers keeper Scott Shearer is expected to keep his place in a side skippered by former Chelsea defender Michael Duberry.

Ex-Bristol City defender Jamie Woodman is also likely to feature, although another Ashton Gate old boy will not.

Tommy Doherty is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury.

As alluded to by Taylor, it was basically Wycombe's sound defensive record that got them up last season – they let in only 33 in 46 league games.
