Yesterday's fixture at Taunton was abandoned due to a frozen track.

With overnight temperatures having dipped to minus 1.8C, clerk of the course Michael Trickey was left with no choice but to draw stumps after two morning inspections.

Although Trickey was confident earlier in the day, temperatures failed to show any measurable improvement.

"It was supposed to be plus 4C but we've only risen one degree since daybreak," said Trickey at 11am yesterday.

"It's just too frosty, so we've had to abandon."
