There was something fishy going on at Welshback yesterday at the first annual Fish Fest.

The event was organised by the Glassboat restaurant and saw food and wine merchants from the region set up stalls on the wharf, while The Matthew was moored nearby.

Visitors sampled various delicacies, including fresh oysters from Bigbury Bay Oysters.

Event organiser and Glassboat operations manager Nathan Lee said: "We felt something like this should happen on Welsh Back, so we decided to put an event on. We invited our suppliers, all of whom are local to the region, to show people the fantastic seafood that is available. Hopefully the event will grow and we can make it a really big deal in the future."

Taste, Valley Smokehouse, Great Western Wine, Oliver & Bird, Castellano's, Red Mullet and Spyglass restaurant were involved in the day.
