Nick Tanner celebrated his first Hellenic League victory since taking over as Winterbourne United manager, as they swept past bottom side Launton Sports.

Jimmy Potts gave United the lead in the 15th minute, before goals from Sam Vile and Scott Cameron gave them a 3-0 cushion at the break.

Launton pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half, but Vile made it 4-1 on the hour.

Tytherington Rocks took a point from a 1-1 home draw against table-topping Purton.

Rocks took the lead when Danny Thorpe scored from the penalty spot.

Purton equalised when a Marcus Hall shot was deflected in.

Premier Division Almondsbury Town made hard work of beating Division One East side Holyport in the second round of the Bluefin Insurance Cup – going through to the third round after winning a penalty shoot-out 4-3 following a 1-1 draw.

Aaron Blakemore scored the equaliser in normal time before Sahr Kabba, Mike Whittington, Ross Stearn and Tony Davis netted spot-kicks.
