Talking point: Leeds 50 Bristol Rugby 31
BRISTOL Rugby today conceded 50 points in a game for the first time since having more than 80 scored against them at Worcester in April 2011.
Trailing 27-0 at half-time, they fought back to score five second-half tries – but the damage had long been done.
Leeds, unlike Newcastle, Cornish Pirates or Bedford, did not go into the new Championship season as many people's tips to make the end-of-season play-offs. But the ease with which they cut through Bristol's defence was a deeply concerning sight.
Bristol are dealing with issues such as injuries and unavailability of key players – but only a week ago they beat Pirates 29-17 with a solid all-round display.

Today's performance was full of holes and missed tackles, while Bristol's physicality, at least in that error-strewn first 40 minutes, was nowhere near the standard required to challenge at the top of the Championship.
So, after four games – two wins and two defeats – are Bristol good enough to finish in the top four, let alone win promotion?
