“I was there and it was a great night with many talented performers! I have to be honest though, I was a little puzzled as to why the judges sent through so many similar acts to the semis i.e. young, female X-Factor clones with good voices but who stood statically on the stage and covered the ever-predicable power ballards that many are getting so sick of. This was at the expense of the far more entertaining artists like the excellent Daddy G and flamboyant Andy G who performed self-penned songs with confidence, flair and a bit of stage presence. These were the real stars and yet the judges decided there is no room for people who write and perform their own music in the semis. Underlines what is wrong with the music business at the moment.”
