Table-toppers Broad Walk extend their lead
Unbeaten Broad Walk Reserves extended their lead at the top of the table with two convincing victories in a double fixture against Bideford OB.
The Old Boys lost 4-0 in the opener to goals from Danny Goulding (2), Ben Griffiths and Jesse Finn, then crashed 7-0 in the second game. Goulding and Finn both notched hat-tricks before Griffiths completed the rout.
Four goals in the second half sealed a 6-2 win for second-placed De Veys away to Lawrence Rovers Reserves, for whom James Weston struck twice before the break.
Teenagers Connor Walker and Dean Chapman both bagged braces, then Mark Jones and John Bale completed the rally for De Veys, who meet Mendip Reserves in the final of the Temple Colston Cup at Yate tomorrow.
Mendip warmed up for the big match with a 9-2 romp against Wessex Wanderers A. Ben Thatcher led the way with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Gary Bennett (2), Mike Wooton, Chris Attiwell, Wesley Saunders and Dave Gamlin. Lewis Perryman struck twice in reply for Wessex.
Greyfriars B crashed 4-0 at Knowle Reds. Sam Carr twice headed home crosses from Luke Shepherd to put them in control, then completed his hat-trick from close range, before Craig Elliott added the fourth.
Crown Parkway took maximum points from a double fixture against Long Ashton Reserves.
They won the first game 6-0 thanks to Adam Shapcott (3), James Medlett, Anthony Tape and Chris Szezelkim before claiming a 3-1 win through Ryan Thompson (2) and Scott Garraway.
raig Sposito completed his double with a late equaliser for Redcliffe, whose other goal came from Richard Haddow in a 3-3 home draw with Carmel. The visitors twice came from behind to lead 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick by Eddie Itebete.
