TV chef Lesley Waters visited Bristol yesterday to serve up a roast lunch to a group of pensioners for Age Concern.

She is touring the charity's centres and was at the Withywood Community Centre to feed 20 members of Bristol's New Beginnings Day Service.

The roadshow aims to spread the word about The Great Sunday Lunch, a charity initiative to raise money for Age Concern and Help the Aged.

The Great Sunday Lunch encourages people to get together and host a lunch on October 18 to raise funds for older people, for whom Sunday can be a very lonely time.

Jessica Lewin from Age Concern Bristol said: "We were delighted with the response we got from this Great Sunday Lunch event. It was a great way for everyone to get together, enjoy a delicious meal and talk about bygone times. Lesley was brilliant and made everyone feel special."

Lesley said: "Family and cooking are the most important things in my life and so for me this is a fantastic event."
