Swindon trainer Taffy Salaman strikes at Lingfield with Rulesn'regulations
Rulesn'regulations gave Swindon trainer Taffy Salaman something to dream about through the dark winter months when obliging with a polished performance in the Play Poker At ladbrokes.com Novice Stakes at Lingfield.
Salaman also owns and bred the juvenile, who knocked spots of his four rivals as he kicked clear inside the distance to score by a length and a half.
The 8-11 favourite was again taken on by Satwa Street after the pair clashed at Wolverhampton last month, but the result was the same as Jimmy Quinn steered the colt to a cosy success.
Salaman said: "When we get him fit and with a bit of time he will be a nice horse.
"I was going to finish him after Wolverhampton but he was so well and this race came up.
"I'll put him away now as he's a big horse and isn't furnished yet.
"I think seven furlongs will be his trip, but if he does stay a mile he could be a Group horse."
Ed Dunlop was another to strike with his only runner of the afternoon as Jamie Spencer made all aboard his Thin Red Line (2-1) in the Play Poker At ladbrokes.com Nursery.
Dunlop's assistant Robin Trevor-Jones said: "We got it all our own way in front, and Jamie was always in control.
"He has won his race now so we might save him for the grass next year."
Shaded Edge made a quick reappearance after an outing at Kempton over the weekend to take division one of the Fred & Ron Gibson Memorial Handicap.
David Arbuthnot's 15-8 favourite swooped late in the day under Martin Dwyer and collared long-time leader Bollin Franny to score by a neck.
The trainer's representative said: "We were worried that running two days after Kempton might be a bit quick, but he was fine and licked his pot clean Sunday night and Monday morning.
"He will probably have about 10 days off before running again, and will give his owner plenty of fun through the winter."
Division two witnessed Lost All Alone maintain an advantage all the way down the home run to secure victory under Marc Halford.
The David Simcock-trained four-year-old has been lightly-raced through 2008 and was having only his second start at the backend of the year in the six-furlong event.
The 6-1 chance had a commanding advantage turning in but that was reduced to just a half length at the line as Fantasy Fighter closed in late on.
Wyeth may never live up to the exploits of his Classic-winning half-brother George Washington but there was still plenty to like about his performance in the Bet at ladbrokes.com Amateur Riders' Handicap.
The Gary Moore-trained 11-4 favourite soon put distance between himself and his rivals and only had to be kept up to his work to take the prize by four and a half lengths.
William Knight's 6-5 favourite Titan Triumph completed a hat-trick in the Play Bingo At ladbrokes.com Handicap in the hands of George Baker, who went on to take the Play Casino At ladbrokes.com Handicap aboard 5-1 joint favourite Wellington Square.
