Sweet shop owner jailed for groping girl
A trader who groped a schoolgirl at a sweet shop he ran from his home in Lawrence Weston, Bristol, has been jailed for six months.
A jury at Bristol Crown Court heard Michael Johnstone kissed and improperly touched the 14-year-old when she visited his cupboard store to spend £1 on sweets.
Johnstone, 59, who traded from Kneller Close, denied wrongdoing but was convicted of sexual assault after a trial last month.
Sentencing him yesterday, Judge Simon Darwall-Smith ordered him to sign as a sex offender and made him the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order to keep him away from youngsters.

“Who in their right mind allows their children to go to a "sweet shop" run from an old man's house?
There again, it is Lawrence Weston.”
