Swann wants big improvement from Sonics
SKIPPER Dom Swann knows his side will need to show a vast improvement if they are to secure their first Conference League Three victory of the season at Huddersfield Underbank-Rangers today.
Sonics lost their two opening games of the campaign, following promotion from the regional leagues last season, and were humbled 54-12 by Warrington Wizards last time out.
"If we play like we did last week, it will be tough to keep the score down, let alone win," said Swann.
"We've been working hard in training on doing the basics right. Everyone makes mistakes, but at this level you get punished for them.

"In the past, we've played at a level where we can be careless and get away with it. We just can't do it any more. We need to complete our sets in attack and tighten up in defence. If we don't do that, it will be a very difficult afternoon."
Head coach Karl Fearnley's hopes of claiming a surprise victory over one of the team's tipped to land the Conference League Three title this season are not improved by the absence of exciting hooker Harry Marson (head injury).
First-choice back Marcus Brooker – recently of National League Two South rugby union side Dings Crusaders – and young wingers Elliot Nightingale and Mike Norman all return. The Sonics' progress can be followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/BristolSonicsRL.
