BISHOP Sutton have snatched midfield enforcer Jack Durrant from Bitton – just in time for the 20-year-old to face his former team-mates at the Rapid Solicitors Ground tomorrow.

Sutton manager Lee Lashenko has refused to say whether the former Cheltenham Town youngster will start the top-of-the table game.

"He's in our squad of 16 and we'll wait and see how things pan out," he said. "We're very pleased to have him aboard. He's technically good, a proper footballer, and he joins us at an exciting stage of our season.

"It's a big one for both teams. They have ability and experience, but we have youth and ability and will be going there to win. We know of no other way."

Bitton boss Richard Fey, pictured, who is still without star centre-forward Mark Salter, responded: "I said at the start of the season that whoever finishes above Bishop Sutton would be strong title contenders.

"Both teams are in good form and it should be a cracking game for the spectators."

A third Hallen goalkeeper has been forced to quit during the campaign. Nick Yeo and Josh Stawrowski have had their seasons ended by injury and now Adam Growcott is on his way out of the club.

Having helped Hallen to a trio of away wins and kept three clean sheets, Growcott has said that next Saturday's home match with Radstock Town will be his final appearance as he will be moving out of the area on business.

Owen said: " I find myself searching for yet another keeper of Western League calibre or higher. It's a shame because Adam has been magnificent and was man of the match when we won at Street last Saturday."

Hallen go to Ilfracombe Town tomorrow, while Longwell Green Sports travel to reigning champions Larkhall Athletic seeking a first win in eight outings with centre-backs Mark Summers and Mike Wright back from injury.

Assistant boss Lee Perks is calling on Brislington to replicate the fighting spirit that stunned Willand Rovers on their own ground last weekend when they host Wells City.

"We'd have definitely taken a draw beforehand, so to win was fantastic," said Perks. Frank Gingell should return after illness, but Bris are without defender Tom Godsell and banned striker Liam Peart.

In the First Division, Portishead Town boss Ray Johnston has praised his young side ahead of a trip to leaders Gillingham Town.

"Joe Brimble (18) has been excellent since returning from a bad injury and our other full-back, James Playford (17), has given us added defensive steel and extra attacking options," he said. "Another of our teenagers, Ash McGrane, has been superb up front all season."

Cadbury Heath entertain lowly Shrewton United and will also keep an eye on title rivals Melksham Town's home clash with Roman Glass St George.

Oldland Abbotonians centre-half Tom Seary is out for up to eight weeks with a knee problem and misses the basement battle at Devizes Town.

Almondsbury UWE host Elmore aiming to halt a run of four successive defeats.
