Coalpit Shaft have capped an excellent first season with victory in the final of the Presidents Cup.

The team was only formed at the start of the 2008-09 season, but they quickly found their feet by winning the cup and finishing third in the Senior Division of the Bristol & Wessex Sunday League.

Coalpit Shaft's founder is player-manager Kelvin Hawkins and, together with several helpful sponsors, he has overseen an excellent campaign.

The team is made up of locally-based players and home matches are held at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.

Their Presidents Cup final victory came in a tight game against The Robins at Bristol Manor Farm.

It was 1-1 at the end of normal time and, after extra-time yielded no further goals, Coalpit Shaft won the cup after a tense penalty shoot-out.
