Super Warmley hit seven against Coalpit Heath
Star Match: Coalpit Heath 0 Warmley Rangers 7: Hanham Minor League, Under-11, Division B: Warmley Rangers waited until the second match to hit top gear and ease to a 7-0 victory over Coalpit Heath.
Cash Vinall was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick in game two, which the visitors won 6-0 to add to their 1-0 first-match success.
Rangers started slowly against a strong Heath side, who appeared well up for the occasion, with James Millett bringing three saves from Warmley keeper Domenico Greco in the opening exchanges.
Both teams passed the ball around positively, although the majority of the chances fell to Heath, demonstrated by a powerful shot from Josh Yeomans which flew narrowly wide.
Midway through the half,Warmley started to create some good chances of their own and Callum Purver had a shot deflected wide by Josh Ogborn.
Ben Webb was having an excellent game at centre-half for Warmley, making some important challenges and clearances.
Warmley came more into the match as they half progressed and a great move set up George Haynes in space to unleash a tremendous shot, which was deflected just wide.
Greco was the busier of the two keepers during the first period, making some brilliant saves, including a vital interception outside his penalty area to nullify a promising Heath attack.
Warmley finally broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half. Toby Sawyer split the Heath defence with a delightful through ball to James Marshall, who fired home with the inside of his left foot.
Heath launched a wave of attacks in the closing stages as they battled to get back on terms. A fantastic pass down the left from Millett sent Reece Williams racing towards goal and he was unfortunate not to get a shot in.
Warmley suffered a blow late on as their brick wall at the back, Webb, had to go off injured.
A number of players could be proud of their performances in the first game, particularly Warmley's Sawyer and Marshall and Heath duo Josh Coleborn and Yeomans.
Warmley went straight on to the attack in game two. Dave Skinner whipped in a great cross and Ross Vinall's header forced a fine save from keeper Lee Carter, Skinner heading just over from the subsequent corner.
After a slow start, Heath began to get into the match and with some clever build-up play and only a superb Cash Vinall clearance denied them a goal. However, a minute later, the ball was in the net at the other end as Warmley took the lead, Vinall hammering a long-range strike into the bottom corner.
Warmley began to get on top and in the eighth minute they made it 2-0, Ross Vinall sneaking into the area and scrambling the ball over the line in a goalmouth melee.
Heath recovered from the double setback and Callum Ainger and Max Barracloughfashioned a couple of opportunities which went begging.
At the other end, Warmley's Sam Lewis forced a brilliant save from Carter before they claimed their third goal on 15 minutes.
A long-range effort from the impressive Cash Vinall was flicked on by the head of Ross Vinall and looped over the keeper for 3-0.
By now, Warmley were well in control and shots were fired in from all angles, not least by the dangerous Cash Vinall.
At the other end, the hosts were struggling to penetrate a solid Warmley defence of Richard Wathen and Charlie Knight, and the only chances that came in the first half were thanks to the persistent chasing of Barraclough and Ainger.
The second half began much the same, with Warmley on top, and four minutes in they added another goal to their tally. Lewis provided an excellent ball for Cash Vinall, whose first touch was superb as he slotted it low past the home keeper.
Heath's opportunities were limited in the second period and, when one did come along for Barraclough, great covering work by Knight snuffed out the danger.
Cash Vinall was effectively running the game for Warmley from his central midfield role and completed a well-deserved hat-trick in the 16th minute. Following another goalmouth scramble the ball ended up at his feet and he coolly slotted it into the back of the net.
Heath mounted a late charge to try to salvage something from the game, with Josh Ritchie and Joe David both going close. And Barraclough was still working hard for them, making penetrating runs down the right wing.
But, five minutes from the end, Warmley made it 6-0. Cash Vinall embarked upon another fantastic run through the middle and laid the ball off for Lewis to tap into an empty net.
The scoreline would have been much bigger had it not been for the Coalpit Heath keeper Carter, who made some terrific stops.
