Lawyers in the murder case of teenager Joe Dymond- Williams have been making their closing speeches to the jury.

Student Joe, 17, from Whitchurch, was punched unconscious before having his head kicked "like a football" when he intervened in a row, Bristol Crown Court has heard.

The jury was told he was out with friends in the city centre and stepped in when his friend had a heated exchange with a girl in Queen Charlotte Street.

As he did so Jack Sanderson-Hunt punched Joe to the ground, leaving him with a fractured skull and unconscious. Thomas Swift then kicked him to the head, causing another fracture. Joe fell into a coma and died of his head injuries two weeks later.

Sanderson-Hunt, 18, of Dundry View, Knowle Park, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and will be sentenced later.

Swift, 18, of Ellfield Close, Highridge, pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denies murder and is on trial. The judge will sum up the case on Tuesday.
