LONGWELL Green moved into the second round of the FA Vase with a relatively straightforward victory at home to Calne.

The hosts triumphed 2-0 in a game that saw both sides have a man sent off following an altercation.

Andy Summers gave Longwell Green a 20th-minute lead from the penalty spot after Charlie Stevens was fouled in the area.

However, the hosts' Matt Tilley and Calne's Chris Beasley were shown red cards following a clash during a break in play.

Longwell Green coped with the ten-a-side game the better, though, and secured their victory midway through the second half when Jake Slocombe pounced after a goalkeeping error.

Cadbury Heath are also in the draw for the next round after their 3-2 home victory over Hayling.

Matt Huxley and George Boon fired Heath into a two-goal lead early on, but Mickey Turvey pulled a goal back on the half-hour mark.

The hosts were dominant, though, and Harry James added a third on the hour, so Alex Eaton's goal 15 minutes from time was not enough for the visitors.

Brislington are out after Bodmin's 3-2 victory in Cornwall – a triumph that replicated their FA Cup win over the Bristol side earlier in the season.

An Ollie Brokenshire double and one from Adam Carter put Bodmin three goals up at the break, so replies from Frank Gingell and Adam Mahdi couldn't save the day for Brislington.

Hallen also had a nightmare first half, conceding four goals on their way to a 6-0 defeat at Moneyfields.

Three other Toolstation League sides made it through to the second qualifying round.

Odd Down won 1-0 at Street, Sherborne gained a 2-1 victory at Exmouth; and Buckland won 1-0 at Saltash.

However, Westbury are out following their 5-1 thumping at Blackfield & Langley, while Barnstaple went down 2-1 at St Blazey.
