Tim Summers was the inspiration behind Bristol Sports' 3-1 victory over Avon Plate in the Evening Post Cup final.

He was a constant threat to the Avon Plate defence, creating Sports' second goal and was unlucky not to score a number of goals himself.

His assist came when he put in a beautiful cross from the right, which was converted at the near post by Austin Reed.

Summers had the first opportunity of the game, but he shot straight at the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

He also had a goal disallowed for offside after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Bristol Sports manager Ryan Cleverley said: "He's been awesome all season. He's our top goalscorer by a mile and was unlucky not to score today."

Summers added: "We were the best team on the day. Their goal came against the run of the play, but we showed character to come back."

Overall, it was an electric performance from Summers, who showed great pace, superb control and the ability to put in a cross when needed. He was the difference between the sides.
