Students' talent gives station an improved look
A-LEVEL students at Redland Green School are celebrating the completion of their zoo-themed mural at Clifton Down Station.
As part of a continuing programme to improve the stations in the Bristol area, the Severnside Community Rail Partnership is encouraging schools to produce artwork for stations. The art brightens the stations, and the involvement of students gives young people some ownership which helps to reduce vandalism.

Councillor Gary Hopkins, Bristol City Council cabinet member for transport, said: "As well as improving the station environment, the aim here was to create a link between the station and Bristol zoo, to encourage more visitors to travel by train to the zoo. So as well as looking wonderful, the art is also helping to reduce traffic and parked cars in the Clifton area."
Redland Green head teacher Sarah Baker said: "The students were presented with a huge challenge, which they met with talent and professionalism."
