New boys help City to big win
Bristol city 7 bristol rovers 0
New arrivals Paul Anderson and Steve Davies issued a timely reminder to watching Bristol City manager Derek McInnes.
Both opened their goal-scoring account for the club in a resounding friendly victory over arch rivals Bristol Rovers behind closed-doors at Failand yesterday.
Signed from Nottingham Forest and Derby County, respectively, winger Anderson and striker Davies have yet to start a Championship fixture for the Robin during this campaign. However, Anderson pressed his claims by scoring twice, while Davies chipped in with another goal as a strong City side comfortably saw off a Rovers XI comprising fringe and development squad players.

City surged into a 3-0 half-time lead, Anderson, Davies and young midfielder Bobby Reid breaching an inexperienced Rovers defence with ease. Reid doubled his personal tally after the break and then turned provider when presenting Anderson with simple tap-in.
Academy product Joe Bryan was also on the score-sheet, while on-trial ex-Auxerre winger Omar Kissoko played 90 minutes and grabbed himself a goal as the Robins ran out comfortable winners.

“My apologies 'fullof' its only 6 not 7 who were in the Rovers 1st team squad for the Aldershot game they are:
Gough
Broghammer
Norburn
Goddard
Clarke
Anyinsah
My point is those players are already in your 1st team squad, where as the City players i've listed are our Developement and Fringe players and unlikely to get 1st team action at BS3 this season”

“How can you say that Rovers had a squad comprising of fringe and development players when 7 of them were in the first team squad against Aldershot last Saturday ?
Why didnt you point out that City had Carey (GK) Edwards, J Wilson, Nyatanga, Bryan, Reid and Burns playing yesterday who are considered as Citys fringe and development players.”
