Strijbos sees off the challenge of Barr to ease his way to victory
BELGIAN Kevin Strijbos regained the lead in the open class of the British Motocross Championships after winning all three races in the fourth of the eight-round Maxxis Tyres backed series at Porters Pit, near Desertmartin in Northern Ireland, on Sunday.
Local idol Martin Barr was his closest rival and he took second place overall in front of Mattis Karro.
East Anglian Elliott Banks-Browne won the first two races in the 250cc class but a tumble in the final race left him in sixth place and he lost the class win to Yamaha's Mel Pocock with Seve Lenior in third place.
Bill Farleigh, who has dominated the expert class races in several rounds of the South West off-road motocross series, was again top points scorer in the Dartmoor clubs round at Wrangaton, near Ivybridge.

Following ten hours of rain, the circuit resembled a mud pool for the first half of the meeting and Shepton Mallet's Darren Banwell took the first race win.
But as the track dried out Farleigh showed his true form and he won the two remaining races with James Kensington, Banwell and Mike Rowe in close attendance.
Aiden Prout was superb in the muddy conditions in the first senior race, but he fared badly in his two other races, finishing in 15th and 18th places respectively.
Wessex Centre timed trial champion Jason Hamblin beat off a stiff challenge from his brother Mark to win the Wells club's timed and observation event at Maesbury Castle the same day.
The event had to be switched there following flood conditions at Milton Lane, near Wookey Hole. Mark was first to complete the hour-long battle against the clock and the Mendip terrain, but he lost nine marks on observation on climbs in the fourth and fifth sections as opposed to Jason's three-mark loss.
Terry Potts, Ian Graham and Wessex Centre chairman Keith Wooster were the main class winners in the Kingswood club's two-day experts trial at Beaconsfield Farm, West Harptree over the weekend.
More than 50 contestants faced two laps of 15 different sections each day.
