Stockwood children's centre celebrates first anniversary
The Lord and Lady Mayor were guests of honour at the first anniversary of a children's centre in Stockwood.
Councillor Davies and his wife Susan were shown around by children from Burnbush children's centre, Whittock Road, as they took part in a nature day.

More than 100 parents and their children attended.
The children took part in a pond-dipping session led by Avon Wildlife Trust. There was also face painting, bark rubbing and a chance to make a "nature crown" with twigs and leaves.
Mr Davies wrote a "leaf message" to the school, wishing it a happy birthday before putting it on a specially designed tree.
He also cut the birthday cake, made by a Bristol baker.
He said: "Stockwood seems to be a bit tucked away but this is a magnificent group.
"I was talking to a few of the parents and it's a really important part of their lives.
"They can come and meet new people. It's really good."
The Lord Mayor was joined by governors from adjacent Burnbush Primary School and councillors David Morris and Jay Jethwa.
Three officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary were also in attendance to teach the children about road safety.
They also brought along helmets and fluorescent jackets for the children to try on.
Liz Harper, acting children's centre manager, said: "We had a really good response and the weather held off in the morning.
"The children found a newt in the pond. They all enjoyed it."
