Stockwood Green maintained their 100 per cent record to move into second spot in Division One of the Somerset County League with a 7-0 victory at Larkhall.

Ben Cook, Nick Reynolds and Nat Brown all scored twice for Stockwood, who led 5-0 at half-time. Midfielder Jason Smith completed the scoring to take his tally for the season to four goals.

Fry Club had to settle for a point from a goalless home draw against third-placed Nailsea United

Kevin Roper, on a couple of occasions, and Lewis Dunn both missed chances of giving them victory.

"If we are to achieve our ambition of making a return to the Premier Division we need to sign a proven goal scorer," disappointed manager Malcolm Beck said.

In the Premier Division, Backwell United took over top spot, pleasing player-manager Shane Smith with a 2-0 home victory over Brislington Reserves.

United went ahead in the 34th minute, when Lee Rendell set up Billy Garland to score, and they clinched victory midway through the second half, when Tye Coleman and Ashley Hughes combined to create the opening for striker Darren Brown to score.

Bottom-of-the-table Cutters Friday took a two-goal lead at Frome Town Reserves but were beaten by a last-minute goal after Frome mounted a comeback.

Ryan Bending and Ryan Innals had put Cutters in control in the first half, but Frome pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, equalised midway through the second half and then struck at the death to take the three points. Cutters Friday boss Neil Soper said: "We are paying for our lapses in concentration."

Paulton Rovers Reserves took the lead at Bridgwater Town Reserves but went down 2-1, while Nailsea United were beaten 2-1 at home by second-in-the-table Glastonbury Town.
